Each year, the Government of the Russian Federation grants 10 quotas to Cyprus, which allows 10 candidates to begin their studies at almost any university in Russia. This allows you to get any academic degree bachelor, master, post-graduate, second degree etc.
The scholarships are given through a selection based on the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation No. 891 of 08/10/2013 and the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation No. 844 28/7/2014
Foreign citizens and compatriots living abroad are allowed to participate in the selection. An obligatory criterion for admission is the presence of documents on education received by the candidate. So, for example, in 2020, a future student will have to have a certificate of education completion. Anyone who intends to go to a magistracy will have to have a bachelor's degree, etc. Citizens of the Russian Federation can also participate in the selection program, but only if they do not have their permanent residence in Russia, that is, they permanently reside abroad. Otherwise, they cannot apply for a quota and are required to pass the exam for further higher education.
The lack of knowledge of the Russian language by a foreign candidate is not an obstacle to his future studies in Russia. Some programs allow you to study directly in English. In addition, before starting their studies, foreigners undergo language training at the preparatory departments of their chosen universities. Tuition at the preparatory faculty is also included in the quota.
The selection is carried out in two stages.
In order to become a participant in the program, the candidate should go to the "information system" website (LINK) and fill out a personal profile by filling out all the fields, choosing a program, speciality in studies and indicating up to 6 preferred universities in descending order of their importance for the applicant. In Moscow and St. Petersburg, it is allowed to indicate 2 universities, in other regions - up to 3.
After that, the applicant enters the list of candidates. After completion of the entire list of participants, a single selection day is assigned. On a specific date and time, all candidates are invited to come to the RCC in Nicosia for an interview with the members of the selection committee. Based on the results of the interview, 10 people are selected from among the applicants who are given a quota.
After the winners provide all the necessary documents (apostilled translations into Russian of a passport, diploma, health certificate, HIV-negative analysis), their applications are sent for examination to Moscow, and then submitted to universities. As a rule, in July-August, candidates will find out which university they are enrolled in, after which they apply for a student visa and receive the right to go for studies to Russia.
